CCHS Parents in Partnership

Introducing PiP

Parents in Partnership (PiP) is the parent council for Currie Community High School.  If you have a child at the school you are automatically a member of the Parent Forum, and PiP exists to represent the Forum.

What parent councils do

Parent Councils are statutory bodies in Scotland that give parents a voice in how schools run and develop.  PiP works alongside the school to strengthen communication between families and the school, share the views of parents and carers, and raise funds for projects that directly benefit pupils.  For example, our Christmas Fair is one of PiP’s main fundraising events, and it’s something everyone in the school community can take part in.

How PiP works

At the heart of PiP is a volunteer committee that helps coordinate activities and liaise with the school.  But PiP is much more than the committee, it’s a community of parents and carers who care about the school and its pupils.

Getting involved

All parents and carers are welcome to attend open meetings (in-person or online), join discussions, or help out with events, whether regularly or just when time allows.  PiP meetings are normally held at the school in the evening, roughly once each term.

Apply for funding

School staff, school groups, and pupils (with staff support) can apply to PiP for funding to support projects, activities, or resources that benefit pupils.  All applications must be approved by the Headteacher.

To apply, please download the application form and return it by email, via the Headteacher, once completed.

Stay in touch

To find out more, come along to a meeting or visit PiP’s website curriechspip.org.uk.  There’s also an informal Facebook page (CCHS PIP).

The Headteacher announces upcoming meetings in the weekly Sway and parents or carers who join our email list get information sent directly to them.

If you’d like to connect with PiP or get involved, send us an email cchspip@gmail.com – we’d love to hear from you!
